Congress extends Federal Solar Tax Credits for 5 more years

We are pleased to announce Congress recently extended federal solar tax credits for five more years.  The credits will remain at 30% and allow everyone more time to learn more about solar production, which continues to grow rapidly in our country and around the world.

This is important because solar provides farmers, business people, and home owners with great opportunities to save money, plan for the future, and protect the environment.  We hope Iowa law makers will follow up and extend the 15% Iowa solar tax credit so everyone can plan on what is currently in place.  In a related development, it appears the section 179 bonus depreciation will also be extended, meaning that farmers and other businesses will be able to cap small business expenses at $500,000 instead of $25,000.
